Scholarships for Military Children: Dec.14 start date for new applications; process all online

The Scholarships for Military Children Program for school year 2019 – 2020 kicks off Dec. 14, and continues accepting applications through Feb. 15.

This marks the first time the entry process will happen entirely online according to Jim Weiskopf, Fisher House vice president. “It will be simple to create an account, save your work and submit your application when finalized,” he explained. “The online process will make it easier for military children to reach their education goals.”

Army Emergency Relief has a long tradition of helping Soldiers.  Founded in 1942, Army Emergency Relief is the Army’s own nonprofit organization dedicated to providing emergency financial assistance to Soldiers, Retired Soldiers and their families during times of distress.  With providing more than $1 Billion in assistance since 9/11, AER works to educate eligible Soldiers and inform them of benefits offered, as well as the opportunity to contribute to Soldiers in need.

2019 CRDP/CRSC Open Season

The 2019 CRDP/CRSC Open Season is January 1-31, 2019. Retirees who are eligible for both CRDP and CRSC will receive an Open Season Letter with the amount of their entitlements. Follow the instructions on the letter. Only return the letter to DFAS to change your current election for 2019. Your election must be postmarked by January 31, 2019.
