Celebrate Army Retirement Services’ 60th Anniversary throughout November

On November 14, 1955, the Army dedicated an office to support the needs of Retired Soldiers and their Families. Since then, the U .S. Army Retirement Services Office (RSO) has developed policy and managed Army programs across the globe that assist this special population of Soldiers. RSO now supports 1.2 million Retired Soldiers and surviving spouses.

RSO helps Soldiers and their Families prepare for retirement by providing pre-retirement guides and briefings, placing Retirement Services Officers on each installation both domestic and abroad as well as in the Army Reserve and National Guard, connecting Soldiers and Families to the Soldier for Life-Transition Assistance Program and more. RSO is a Retired Soldier’s enduring connection to the Army. RSO also provides resources for after retirement, and will support Soldiers and surviving spouses until death.

For six decades, RSO has remained committed to Retired Soldiers and their Families. Celebrate this milestone by engaging with us here on Army Echoes Blog throughout the month of November and on Soldier for Life social media: www.facebook.com/StrongSoldierForLife, www.twitter.com/CSASoldier4Life.

Retirement does not sever a Soldier’s connection to the Army. Once a Soldier, Always a Soldier . . . a Soldier for Life!
