Army Soldier for Life Network

LinkedIn is a business-oriented social networking service. It is mainly used for professional networking and, as of June 2013, has 259 million users in over 200 countries. If you have a career, or have ever had a career, LinkedIn is the social networking website for you.

In March, Soldier for Life launched a LinkedIn group: the Army Soldier for Life Network. This platform provides a space where Soldiers, Retired Soldiers, Veterans and their Families can network, trade tips and advice, and access employment opportunities. More than that, it fosters an environment of peer mentorship.

As a Retired Soldier, you have transitioned from military to civilian life. Who better to give advice than someone who has been there? You are the best mentor for that newly transitioning Soldier, Veteran or Family member. You have firsthand experience with everything from translating your resume from military language, to dressing for success in an interview, to questions about pay and benefits and everything in between. And, just as significant, you’ve experienced the mental transition from living and serving an entire career in the Army to living and working in a civilian community.

Join the Army Soldier for Life Network for access to this group, to mentor the next generation of Retired Soldiers and transitioning Veterans and Family members, and to stay connected to the Army.
